Weather Advisory in effect for:Elevated ocean water levels accompanied by significant wind and waves are expected, likely exceeding highest astronomical tide.
Where: West Vancouver Island, Southern Gulf Islands and Victoria.
When: Today near high tide
High Tide: Now until 4 pm
What: Minor coastal flooding due to storm surge and high tide
Hazards:
- Minor flooding near coastal areas to due waves crashing onshore
- Powerful waves can roll logs and heavy debris along beaches
Additional Information:
Storm surge from gale force southeast winds combined with seasonably high tide will produce elevated water levels for areas near the water across the south coast today. Coastal flooding is possible along exposed shorelines, especially in low-lying areas.
